![]() Reggae legend Bunny Wailer has sought to explain what happened at the school he operates in Mona, St. Andrew on Monday. Operators of the singer's school were evicted on Monday based on a court order after he allegedly failed to pay over more than $1.2 million in rent owed. However, on Wednesday, Bunny Wailer in an interview with TVJ’s Entertainment said that things could have been done differently. The 63-year old reggae icon says for many years he alone has been maintaining the property on which his Millennium School is located and this was at no cost to the proprietor. He claims the owner ignored damage done to the property even after a hurricane damaged it in 2007. According to Bunny Wailer, he was not given a fair chance by the courts to defend himself as he was not called in to tell his side of the story. However, when he was presented with copies of the court document, which claimed he owed his landlord more than $1.2 million in rent and late fees, Bunny Wailer said he had not seen them before now and refused to look at them. The school was closed on Monday after an eviction order was issued by the courts.
